Admissions & Amusement Tax

What is Admissions Tax?

City of York imposes a 5% Admissions Tax on the prices of all admission to all Admissions conducted only in the City of York, unless exempted under Article 349 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of York.

This tax will only be applied to events that charge a ticket price greater than $6.00 and events held in venues with permitted occupancy capacities of greater than 100 persons.

How will I file Admissions Tax?

Each producer holding a permanent permit must prepare a tax return reporting the amount of tax collected quarterly.

Producers holding a temporary permit must file their tax return within 30 days of the expiration of the temporary permit.

All tax payments are due when the return is filed.
